RIMORPHIS is a NSF funded collaborative project from the EAR-Geoinformatics program to develop an open access web platform for enabling river morphology research. The overall vision of RIMORPHIS is to create a self-sustained community platform with ancillary tools for supporting scientific discovery on river morphology progression and enable integrated multidisciplinary research on riverine environments. This project is in its second year, and the team is organizing a virtual workshop to provide an update to the river morphology community. Specifically, the goals of the second RIMORPHIS workshop are to: (1) provide an update on the current development of the RIMORPHIS platform including its functionality and tools; and (2) seek feedback from the community on the current design of RIMPORPHIS and future plans for science test cases.
